The Triassic
Period

The Triassic period sets the first stage of the Mesozoic era, with a few ages within it. Let’s see which dinosaurs and other ancient beasts lived in that time.

The Mesozoic era started with the Triassic period, beginning and ending with extinction-level events. While the earth was transforming, it would take a long time before the first dinosaurs appeared. These giants would roam around the planet, looking for food and ways to survive in the new world.

There are also geological and biological aspects to cover, but we’ll mostly set the scene for what it was like for these ancient beasts during this time. We’ll show you what separates the Triassic period from the other two that followed. It’s also helpful to break this time into its various ages to help define it further.

How do we know what happened during this time? What discoveries did scientists find, and which tools and resources did they use to identify items from the Triassic period? You’ll find these answers and more in the articles below.
